"She was Lola in slacks.
She was Dolly at school.
She was Dolores on the dotted line.
But in my arms, she was always
Lolita."
I watched this movie several years ago, and it still on my mind. Lolita itself is an adaption movie from a book with the same title.
Lolita is a novel by Vladimir Nabokov, first published in 1955, about a middle-aged literature professor Humbert Humbert who is obsessed with the 12-year-old Dolores Haze, with whom he becomes sexually involved after he becomes her stepfather. "Lolita" is his private nickname for Dolores.
This is a classic work, I'm pretty sure many of you already read it.
I honestly don't really like this movie, because this is a male gaze (the act of depicting women and the world, in the visual art and in literature, from a masculine, heterosexual perspective that presents and represents women as a sexual object for the pleasure of the male viewer). No wonder, it was an over-sexualizing underage girl with many 'provocative' shots (it was from Humbert's point of view).
In that movie, Lolita may be looked so provocative and 'agree' with Humbert's sexual touch, but she was an underage girl who wasn't really understanding about consent and sexual activities. So technically Humbert was raping her.
Lolita herself said,
"I was a daisy fresh girl and look what you've done to me."
But in the same boat, I really like Lolita's looks. She looks fun, wild, free, and sexy at once in every clothes she wore. So, I decided to outfit looks inspired by her (but still with a touch of my personal style).
What do you think, guys?

As a man I can honestly say you certainly do look fun and sexy in the dress, with your legs been shown just enough, promising more, but not staying demure
